Orphan Annie Remake to Launch Willow Smiths Acting Career
A story on IndieWire confirms that a year ago, Will Smith requested Emma Thompson (Harry Potter, Nanny McPhee) write remake of the  comic strip turned musical Annie for his daughter, Willow, to star in.
More recently, Columbia Pictures has brought in Aline Brosh McKenna to do rewrites on the new film script. Â Her experience includes adapting popular books including The Devil Wears Prada to the screen.
Once again it’s confirmed that Jay-Z will produce and be providing music for the Annie remake.
Further details, like who will direct the film, are still known.
