After 3 Years ‘From The Rough’ Gets Theatrical Release Date April 18, 2014
Once upon a time, before Taraji P. Henson appeared on Person of Interest, before Michael Clarke Duncan passed away, before Tom Felton (Draco Malfoy) finished his stint in the Harry Potter movies, the three actors filmed a movie called From The Rough. It was screened in July 2011, and was originally scheduled for a fall 2011 release. That release date got pushed back again and again. Finally, the film was shelved due to a number of conflicts. The film has been re-branded, released with a new trailer, and will debut in theaters April 18, 2014. All traces of the old trailer for the film, which featured the Radiohead song “Reckoner” seem to have been wiped from the web. The new trailer is more focused on Henson’s character, Catana Starks, indicating that a possible storyline change was made in the editorial process. I still prefer the original trailers I first saw a few years ago, and I hope we’re getting the same story that was depicted in those. The new one does seem a bit more comical, less dramatic, and more commercial.
The film stars Taraji P. Henson, Michael Clarke Duncan, Letoya Luckett, Henry Simmons, Robert Bailey Jr., Tom Felton Ben TYoucef, Paul Hodge, and Justin Chon.
