Martin Lawrence New Sitcom Casting Underway
CBS has ordered the pilot for a show created by and starring Martin Lawrence.
According to EW:
“The comedy pilot stars Lawrence as a 46-year-old man who decides to take on a new career as a cop after the death of his wife leaves him to raise two teenagers on his own.”
Only around 2/3rds of pilots make to to the air in the fall. CBS greenlights about 16 pilots every year, the highest number of any television network.
Is Martin  Lawrence + comedy television a formula for guaranteed long term success?
