The Single Mom’s Club Bombs Opening Weekend
Tyler Perry’s The Single Mom’s Club debuted to low box office numbers and very poor reviews. The film came in 5th place in earnings its debut weekend with a total of only $8.3 million. The film currently has a diabolical rating of just 3.1 out of 10 on IMDB, and a score of 20% on rotten tomatoes.
Mr. Peabody & Sherman took first place at the box office its second weekend in theaters, 300: Rise Of An Empire nailed second, and the debut of Need For Speed earned third place with $17.8 million. Non-Stop, starring Liam Neeson, and featuring Lupita Nyong’o and Nate Parker, came in 4th with a few million more than Single Mom’s Club (Box Office Mojo).
Were you one of the few who saw Tyler Perry’s The Single Mom’s Club over the weekend? What do you think the reason was for its poor reception? Was it truly a terrible film? I have a theory, but I probably shouldn’t share it until I’ve seen the film. Judging from the success of the debut, I may never see it. Post your thoughts below.
