New Show From Lebron James About Life, Basketball, & 20 Somethings
A new drama-comedy produced by NBA star Lebron James will debut on the Starz network. The series will feature a Black cast that includes Jessie T. Usher, RonReaco Lee (Let’s Stay Together), Erica Ash (The Real Husbands Of Hollywood), Teyonah Parris (Mad Men) and Tichina Arnold (Everybody Hates Chris). The dramedy will be titled Survivor’s Remorse, and will debut in the fall. The first season will only have 6 episodes, which may actually be a positive. Great shows come in small packages these days. The first season of Scandal had 7 episodes.
Here is the synopsis of Survivor’s Remorse from Deadline:
The story follows Cam Calloway (Usher), a basketball phenom in his early 20s who is thrust into the limelight after signing a multimillion-dollar contract with a pro team. Cam, along with his cousin and confidant Reggie Vaughn (Lee), move to Georgia to start Cam’s journey to success. The two confront the challenges of carrying opportunistic family members and their strong ties to the impoverished community that they come from.
