Condola Rashad Will Play Nerfertari In Ancient Egypt Set Fox Series
Condola Rashad will play a key character in the upcoming Fox series titled Hieroglyph. The series, set in ancient Egypt, is part fantasy, part history. According to the summary “It follows a notorious thief who is plucked from prison to serve the Pharoah (Reece Ritchie), navigating palace intrigue, seductive concubines, criminal underbellies and even a few divine sorcerers. ” According to Deadline, Rashad will play the Pharaoh’s half sister Nefartari who possesses “a rare beauty that intimidates even the strongest of suitors… and she knows it.”
Rashad seems to be the type to pic her roles carefully. She recently starred in Romeo And Juliet alongside Orlando Bloom on Broadway and appeared in A Trip To Bountiful, for which she received a Tony nomination for Best Featured Actress In A Play. Travis Beacham, writer of the 2013 hit film Pacific Rim wrote the Hieroglyphs pilot episode and is serving as the show’s executive producer.
