Henson, a talented actress best known to broad audiences for her portal of Detective Jocelyn Carter (2011-2013) on the CBS series Person Of Interest, has left the small screen and is headlining a play. The play, titled Above The Fold, will run at the Pasadena Playhouse in California from January 28 – February 23, 2014.

According to a press release put out by the Pasadena Playhouse: “ATF tells the story of Jane, an African-American newspaper reporter from New York, who flies to a Southern university where three white fraternity boys have been accused of raping a young African-American woman.

Taking place amidst the shift from print to digital journalism ATF asks tough questions about the exploitation of tragedy, the cost of success and the dangers that come when ambition collides with truth.”

The play parallels the events of the infamous Duke Lacross Case of 2006, in which an 27-year-old African-American woman working as an escort accused three members of the Duke Lacross team of raping her at a party. Inconsistencies in the woman’s story led to her being discredited.
