Sources Say David Oyelowo and Michael B. Jordan Have Auditioned For Star Wars VII
Two more Black Actors have been linked to J.J. Abram’s upcoming film Star Wars VII. Following a rumor spurting incident, in which Chiwetel Ejiofor was spotted in Abram’s office, actors Michael B. Jordan and David Oyelowo have fallen prey to the same speculation. Sources believe they have both auditioned for a role in the film.
In Michael B. Jordan’s case, the evidence that he auditioned is fairly solid. EOnline reported that Jordan confirmed he auditioned for a role in the sequel in a recent interview.
In David Oyelowo’s case, press asked him whether he’d auditioned in separate article. Oyelowo replied “The breaking news is J.J. Abrams is going to give you that breaking news.” Now, if the actor had not auditioned, its likely he would have just said so.
He added, “I’d go anywhere to work with J.J. Abrams. I think what he did with Star Trek was so extraordinary…And I think what he’ll do with Star Wars will be just as impressive.”
The actor also hinted that Billy Dee Williams’ character Lando Calrissian was “pretty cool” because the pair look similar. It is widely assumed that the new Star Wars sequel will either have younger versions of the characters we know from the original 3 films, or will use relatives of these characters to tell a story.
Do you think these hints are strong enough proof that auditions have taken place?
