Deception Descends In Ratings, Scandal Climbs Up
NBC’s Deception has been steadily decreasing in ratings since its first episode premiered in January. Last Monday, February 4, the show sunk to 3.08 million viewers according to Zap2It. These numbers are the biggest drop so far – a 1.11 million viewer drop since the previous episode. Here are the ratings for the shows previous weeks:
- Episode 1 – 5.66 million viewers
- Episode 2 – 4.9 million viewers
- Episode 3 – 4.47 million viewers
- Episode 4 – 4.29 million viewers
Meanwhile ABC’S Scandal has been steadily climbing in ratings. The episode airing on Thursday, February 14th attracted 8 million viewers, matching its all time high record, and earning 2.5x Deception’s audience. While Scandal is doing well, it did get beat out by rival Elementary for the same time slot. Elementary had 11 million viewers according to TVSeriesFinale.
Does the difference in ratings between these two shows prove that Scandal is popular among the Black community not merely because of its Black leading lady?
