Eddie Murphy Will Produce Beverly Hills Cop TV Show
Eddie Murphy has been pitching a televised version of his Beverly Hills Cop franchise to broadcast networks. An MTV article says he has teamed up with Shawn Ryan (The Shield) and Sony Pictures Television to get the buddy cop procedural off the ground. Murphy will be the executive producer, and will potentially make regular appearances as a character in the show.
However, the idea isn’t sold yet. Murphy has decided to convert the franchise to TV format due to the failure to get a Beverly Hills Cop 4 film sequel off the ground. This doesn’t sound like a great starting point for a success, but it seems Eddie Murphy is doing everything possible to get this film off the ground.
